Analog Bench Validation Engineer

Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with the design team to analyze the product datasheet and propose a test plan.
  • Develop a test plan, review the evaluation board design and layout, and set up a test bench for measurement.
  • Work with the designer for a successful bring-up.
  • Work with the bench automation engineer to develop device drivers and code for automated data collection.
  • Perform data collection, analysis, and report generation using Renesas datasheet format.
  • Present the characterization report to the team and provide data to the apps team for the datasheet.
  • Maintain the bill of material (BOM) list and provide feedback to fix any evaluation board issues.
  • Support ATE correlation and support the qualification and applications team by providing part samples.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Analog Bench Validation and Characterization.
  • A strong understanding of analog circuit fundamentals, including concepts like DC power consumption, gain, settling time, temperature coefficients, DAC/ADC INL, DNL, etc.
  • Experience in silicon validation of analog blocks like BGR, Temperature Sensor, ADC, DAC, LDO, etc.
  • Knowledge of bench automation techniques and software like MATLAB, Python, etc.
  • Experience in debugging bench setup and writing instrument drivers.
  • Experience in understanding datasheets and preparing test plans covering all specifications and characterizing DUT over different temperature and supply corners.
  • Understanding of lab instruments like power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Knowledge of ESD and instrument maintenance is essential.
  • Knowledge of automated data processing, plotting, and GUI development is highly desired.
  • Experience in soldering small SMD components.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like SPI, I2C, I3C, SCPI, etc.
